What Inspires You

Updated: Nov 29, 2020

This time of year can be tough for many with the holidays looming and loved ones unable to gather due to COVID-19. It’s a great time to discover what inspires you and employ that to keep your spirits high despite it all. Inspirations are deeply personal, and what mentally stimulates one may be pure pablum to another. I encourage you to look ahead to what’s to come. With the new year comes new opportunities, focus on the things you can control and make peace with those you can’t. Be reminded that anything that costs you your peace carries a price far too high to pay. Leave disappointments in 2020 and don’t look back.

Tell yourself 2021 is going to be great and it will be…make it so! Make new friends and cherish the old, one is silver the other more precious than gold. Be kind…to yourself. It starts there. Accept yourself. Respect yourself. Push yourself. External motivations are great, but they aren’t always constant, and most are beyond our control. The best motivations come from within because no one controls them but YOU. Who knows you better than you? Are you going to leave it up to someone else to decide how far you’re going? I hope not!

It’s called self-esteem for a reason. Have confidence in your worth and abilities. You truly can do anything you set your mind to. Women are magnificent beings. I’m not speaking of our outward beauty. Clearly God took his time with us. I’m speaking of innate ability to bring about change. We create life; therefore, we can generate a positive force within ourselves to elevate our mental and physical state. The power of positive thinking is real, and it is a powerful tool that is underutilized.

Always be mindful of your thoughts. Don’t put yourself down, not even jokingly. Manifest the way you see yourself and watch what happens. Adhere to your own set of standards - that’s in your career, personal life, and health regimen.

'Tis the season of giving, this year give yourself a break. You deserve it. It’s been a trying year and the last thing you need is to beat yourself up—about anything. Inspire yourself by reinforcing what you know at your core, that you’re great, unique, talented, and strong. Let those thoughts and feelings resonate in your heart and mind. Be filled with satisfaction with yourself and watch your life be filled with good things. Nothing is beyond your reach. The only limits in life are a result of limited thinking. Be well. Be great.
